Have you ever noticed how everyone seems to be in a hurry? Pay attention on the interstate to how many people actually drive the speed limit…or, see how long you can sit at a green light without a symphony of car horns behind you- likely about a nanosecond! During lunch time drive by a McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Burger King, or another fast food restaurant…it’s surprising how many people will sit in line waiting to grab a quick bite to eat before heading back to finish their day of hard work.

Tonight as we were starting to get ready for bed, my son said “Dad, can you tell me the story of David and the Goliath?”  He’s loved this story since the first time I read it to him. It seems to blow his mind that this little shepherd boy defeated this HUGE giant. However, tonight God blew my mind as He revealed something new to me in this story. Let’s take a trip back to 1 Samuel 17:38-40 when Saul clothed David with his armor.

Do you remember going to the swings as a child? Exciting, wasn’t it? I remember sitting on the swing and asking my dad to push me. There was nothing like feeling the rush of the wind as I went higher and higher. Sometimes I would find myself getting scared the higher I went, but I knew my Dad was there to keep me safe. That’s a good memory… then I started thinking… when was the last time I’ve felt like that?
