Suffering shame for His Name
I was just studying the Word and I found this scripture that I highlighted a long time ago. I usually only highlight verses that really hit me hard (at that time or situation I'm in) and I stumbled across this one.
40 And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. 41 And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name. 42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.
It made me think about the things we go through in life. There are many times that we're pushed around, viewed as weak, closed-minded people. I've personally never been beaten for speaking in the name of Jesus, but it made me consider the faith they had. It also made me think how amazing it was that they rejoiced that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name. That's pretty powerful to me. I want to be worthy to suffer shame for His name as well. The best part for me, is verse 42, cause even though they were beaten and told not to speak in the name of Jesus, DAILY in the temple and in every house they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.
We should all rejoice to be worthy of suffering shame in His name!

Timing is everything
Great verse!
