right and wrongs

I was doing some thinking today about rights and wrongs. What I came up with was that if you disagree with something, you can always find something wrong and make you right(does that make it right or the truth?). If not a right and wrong situation (i.e. logic) than you can find something that you can disagree with or one reason not to like it.

Than I started thinking about how hard life is. You won’t win sometimes no matter how hard you try…does that mean you stop trying? Does it? I guess it matter how strongly you feel about the subject you’re talking about. I feel my openness about my faith really rubs people the wrong way. My mom told me this that she heard from an old pastor, “always preach the gospel and if necessary use words…”. Wow that hit me hard with how much I agreed with it. I don’t think having shirts, stickers on my car, my tattoo, the loud screaming Christian music, or the things in my room is with that means. Having these things is awesome and is being open and sharing. (Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses -1 Timothy 6:12) It’s how you act. Do you offer to help someone even if they don’t look like they need it, do you smile and look welcoming, or are you friendly and show kindness to others? (Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against one of your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD-NIV Leviticus 19:18) Ask yourself would you want someone to do these things for you? Why do some people want to be mean and hurtful? Was someone mean or hurtful to them first? Why do some people seem to only want to hurt others not like them? Is the hurt greater to you or them? If you hurt them back it will make you feel better, but for how long? Until someone/thing hurts you again. We need to break the cycle. You can find something to disagree with what I just said or it...

well said angelic

It is true what you wrote above. We each need to be aware of when we are trying to consider something to be ok or not. Our mind was given to us as a tool to use in this world but the devil will try his best to play that tool against us. We have to let the Spirit lead us and not our minds. I use to find myself negotiating with my mind about drinking alcohol in the past. I always said, “Well, God’s word does not actually say NOT to drink”. I prayed that God would show me if it was ok or not. He knows what we all are thinking and how satan is trying to deceive us. Then God showed me in His word that it was a stumbling block and that was enough for me. I did not want someone else to tell me it was wrong. I wanted God to show me, I asked and He revealed it. Now, if I allow something in this world to dim my light then how can I glorify God? So, what ever causes your light to dim, then it is a problem. If you ever find yourself trying to decipher in your mind if it is right or wrong, ask God to show you and He will.

Be aware of the mind…

Romans 8:5-8

5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be.
8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

Romans 12:2

2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

I'm glad we met brain. I

I'm glad we met brain. I think we get each other thinking! and thinking about god is the best kind of thinking :) The evil will always try and turn you and cause you to stumble. You have to stay close to god and let him take the evil out. It might be by giving you strength to stop that sin, loose all interest in that sin, but whatever method god uses he will be right with you.

Same here angelic. Glad to meet you and looking forward to your video testimony. I am going to add that option to the site in 2010. I will have to move the site to a new server when that option is live.

Keep sharing with others what He has done for you and I will do the same!
