Prior to February 23, 1975, I was at the lowest point in my life. That year, when I came back from the race in Daytona, my wife, at that time, had left me. I decided to live it up. However, after a weekend of partying and drinking, I felt really bad. I thought if all this is so great, why do I feel so bad in the morning?
I had really hit bottom. I had always gone to church and knew about the Lord, but I guess, I had never really turned my life over to the Him. On a Tuesday night, February 23rd 1975, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I fell down on my knees and I began praying for God to change me. God took the desire for alcohol out of my life.
Life is always going to be a challenge. When you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, you have faith that with Him you can handle life’s challenges. If you have problems in your life, turn them over to the Lord, and He will surely carry you through.
