He Changed Me

Psalm 9:11

11 Sing praises to the LORD, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings.

This is exactly what the site was created for and I myself have been more blessed by this than I ever thought I would be. There is a short story behind the creation of this site so I feel now is the time to share it with all of you.

It all started with a prayer. My twin and I have been playing music together for years and we have wrote many songs together but I have never been able to write a song that was sacred between God and I. In some ways I felt held back because I could not play acoustic but I have been praying for years that God would allow me to write a song that would tell my story. The story of how I felt when He saved me.

In November 2008 I started to learn the acoustic guitar and since the beginning I had a melody stuck in my head which I could not shake. This melody kept repeating from November till January 25th 2009. It was then I realized that this would be the song I have been praying for. God had shown me that I was to write a song called “Change Me”.

Knowing now what the song would be I thought, “Hmm I could use a poem from my dear friend Connie for this song.” I struggled for hours trying to turn her poem into this song but I failed. I thought to myself, why? Why can’t I get this to work… and then God said, “You said that you wanted to write a song that told your story and that is what you must do.” I felt so ashamed because I was trying to write a song that I thought the world would like… so I threw it away and started over. This time I followed the Spirit and the words flowed onto my paper like I was not even the one writing it. Around 2 am I finished it and then I just cried… WOW my prayer had came true and this song “Change Me” told my story of that day. I felt so blessed. However, that was not the end.

I had also felt for a long time that God wanted me to use my skill as a web developer for His glory. I was up for the job because I feel it’s my duty to do as He asks but I did not know what this site would exactly be for. So I prayed and prayed that He would show me. The following day God revealed that He wanted me to build a site for Christians to come to and share their stories of what He has done for them and brought them through. I thought… WOW this is to GOOD to be true. All these prayers answered and revealed at once! I said, “God I will do this but what should the site be called?” He said, “He Changed Me”. Hmm I thought ok lets see about Change Me… So I looked up the domain changeme.com… Once again I thought I could do better than He had asked and guess what NOT available. Then God said, “I said He Changed ME because I am HE that controls all I through My Son you all are changed.” I then said, “Ok God if this is what you want just make the domain available …” and here we are as He said. Since that day I don’t try anything on my own. He will lead this site.
